Port Authority Worries BMW Will Blow Up Lincoln Tunnel

U.S. Auto Sales Slowest in Fifteen Years

Americans will buy fewer cars this year than at any point since 1993.  That’s the latest prediction from auto industry analysts at J.D. Power and Associates.  In a press release late yesterday, Power analysts projected that Americans will buy 14.2 million new vehicles this year — the lowest number of new vehicle purchases in 15 years.  They cited "a deteriorating economic environment, prolonged effects wrought by the credit crisis, elevated …

Ford’s Comeback Plan

Safety Experts Find Small Pickups Offer Less Side-Impact Protection than Minicars

Start-Up Builds a 41 mpg F-150 Pickup Truck

A small manufacturer of aftermarket kits for converting gasoline-powered vehicles into hybrids has built a 41 mpg large pickup.  Hybrid Electric Vehicle Technologies (HEVT), Jalopnik explains, has "managed to install a plug-in hybrid system in a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The resulting vehicle achieves a combined fuel economy of up to 41 MPG, up from a combined 16 MPG on the 2WD version of the truck. HEVT will now offer …

Sony Kinda-Sorta Confirms GPS-Enabled PSP

Recall Alert: Nissan Sentra

The AP reports, "Nissan Motor Co. is recalling nearly 170,000 Sentra sedans in the United States to address a brake cylinder that could leak fluid."  Affected vehicles include 2007 and 2008 model year Sentras of all trim levels.
