The 2007 North American International Auto Show has opened its doors with the media preview days. Shortly after Detroit, the Chicago Auto Show is usually the place for truck announces and product launches that are more targeted for the North American market. This years edition was no exception: Nissan showed their revamped line of big trucks and SUV, Scion presented two new cars, and Ford dug in its past to rename the Five-Hundred and Freestyle.

On November 18, the 9th Auto China 2006 opened at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. Alternating with the Shanghai Motor Show, Auto China 2006 is the largest auto show in the history of China. More than 90 vehicles from 30 manufacturers are present. Major global auto manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Hyundai and GM have listed Auto China as an ‘A-level’ auto show in line with the five largest auto shows in the world (Frankfurt, Detroit, Geneva, Paris, and Tokyo). Chinese domestic manufacturers have displayed more than 30 concept cars for the show, led by the government owned Chery, and Changan, Hafei, Brillance Auto, and Liebao.

The 2006 Paris Mondial de L’Automobile has opened its doors with the media preview days. Production car debuts include the Nissan Qashqai, Audi R8, Volvo C30, new Mini, and Citroen C4 Picasso. Concepts included the Citroen C-Metisse, Skoda Joyster, VW Iroc, and Peugeot 908RC. The new Toyota Auris and Ford Mondeo were shown as production-preview concepts.
