Taking a moment to bask in the prodigious glory of its M-Class, Mercedes has announced today that worldwide deliveries to customers of the luxury SUV have reached the quarter-million mark since its debut in April of 2005. Particularly popular in the United States and Germany (with one-third of all M-Class models being sold here in the U.S.), diesel engine variants constitute the majority of M-Class models sold worldwide, with some 60 percent of customers opting for one of the three diesel power plants currently being offered. In the U.S. sales of the diesel-powered M320 are up as well, with 20 percent of Americans opting for the CDI model.
